The duffel bag had 4 layers. An outer canvas layers, an second vinyl later to provide a waterproof material, a foam cushioning, and an inner canvas layer. The overall bag has a canvas lining to hide any stitches, edges, or bindings. 

The straps of the bag is a double layer of canvas and a double layer of interfacing to provide a sturdy, thicker strap and handle. Rope was added to the handle to give a more comfortable grip.

Bias tape was sewn around string to create the piping that is used to create form, structure, and detail around the outer pocket and side walls of the bag. The outer pocket was created first to help conceal fraying edges.
